NOTE: Removal of MDS parts from your engine requires that the MDS system be disabled in the vehicle’s computer.
SDPC has developed a line of camshafts intended to tap into the potential that Dodge left on the table. The stock 5.7 Hemi is no slouch but power falls off hard after 5000rpm. Our line of hemi camshafts will not only increase horsepower significantly, we will also have your 5.7 Hemi making power all the way through 6500rpm.
Stage 1: This is our entry level camshaft. . .but don’t let that fool you! The Stage 1 cam idles smooth with a slightly audible cammed sound, and picks up power everywhere in the RPM range without sacrificing drivability. The 5.7 will not need a higher stall TQ converter with this camshaft. On our engine dyno we picked up 81 horsepower and 38 lb/ft of torque in an otherwise stock 5.7 Hemi
Stage 2: this camshaft will give you a mildly choppy idle and equal midrange power to the Stage 1 with another 25 hp at 6500 rpm. For 5 speed cars we recommend a 2400+ RPM stall converter. This cam picked up 107 horsepower and 44 lb/ft of torque over stock and carries power to 6500 with ease
Stage 3: is the ticket if you want to approach 500hp at the flywheel in your 5.7 car or truck. For 5 speed cars we recommend a 2400+RPM stall converter, or 2800+ if you’re going to hit the drag strip on slicks. 8-speed cars don’t require a torque converter change. This cam picked up 115 horsepower and 54 lb/ft of torque over the stock 5.7 camshaft
"El Choppo": One of our most popular cams. It’s built to deliver that aggressive cammed idle we all love and make great power without sacrificing drivability. If you want someone to know you’ve rolled up, you want El Choppo. Power gains are right between stage 1 and stage 2, and idle quality is going to make sure everyone knows you’re packing heat. El Choppo gained 92 horsepower and 37 lb/ft of torque. No torque converter change is necessary
6.4 OEM Camshaft: This camshaft is the OEM 6.4 Scat Pack non-MDS camshaft. Choosing this option will automatically include the necessary valve springs required to run this cam.
