Camshaft Selection & Upgrade Details:

• Factory-Spec Non-AFM 5.3L Camshaft: Direct-fit replacement with standard duration and lift without AFM deactivation lobes. Retains stock engine manners and runs cleanly with standard ECM AFM-disable handheld tuning.
• L86 6.2L Non-AFM Camshaft Upgrade: Features slightly larger duration and lift over the factory 5.3L grind. Delivers a smooth, factory-like idle while gaining approximately 15–20 HP across the mid-to-upper RPM range. Upgraded valve springs are not required, though additional ECU calibration is recommended for optimal fueling and performance.

Mandatory Requirements & Important Technical Notes:

• Mandatory Camshaft Swap: A non-AFM camshaft replacement is strictly required when deleting AFM on Gen V engines. Retaining factory AFM camshaft lobes with standard non-AFM lifters will lead to improper valve seating and rapid valvetrain failure.
• Oil Gallery Tower Plugs: Includes (8) precision Texas Speed block-off plugs to seal oil delivery to the deactivated lifter galleys beneath the valley cover.
• Proven Delphi Valvetrain: Upgrades all 16 lifter locations to heavy-duty Delphi LS7-style non-AFM hydraulic roller lifters held in place with 4 new Gen V non-AFM guide trays.
• Camshaft Bolt Torque Spec: Due to parts availability and application variations, a replacement cam phaser bolt is not included. GM allows reuse of the factory camshaft phaser bolt one time: torque to 48 ft-lbs plus an additional 50 degrees.
• ECM Recalibration Required: Eliminating physical AFM components requires disabling AFM logic within the engine computer to prevent diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) and instrument cluster warnings. Select the optional DiabloSport handheld programmer from the dropdown menu, or calibrate using an HP Tuners interface.
