FAQ
Do I need a wideband with my tuning kit?
- If you have any car other than a Hellcat / Redeye / or TRX, you will need an external wideband.

Which wideband do I need? And do I need a Pro-Link?
- AEM X-Series: This is our most popular budget friendly setup. This wideband is very user friendly since it does not require a free air calibration as they are calibrated with resistors at the factory. This requires an AEM brand sensor as a replacement when needed. Also requires an HP Tuners pro link cable.
- AEM OB2 Wideband: Same as the X-Series but operates on CAN communication protocol with an OBD connector. This one is a little easier to setup in HP Tuners and does not require a Pro link to hook up to the MPVI3.
- NGK AFX: This one is preferred by most professional tuners and is rumored to be more accurate. If you are installing this on your car, there isn’t a very good mounting solution. This one also requires a HP Tuners Pro link to hook up to the MPVI3.
Do I need a smart access cable?
- If your Mopar vehicle is 2018+, yes you will need a smart access cable to bypass the factory gateway module.
How many credits do I need?
- For all Hemi powered vehicles you will need at Minimum 2 credits to tune the engine.
- If you have a 5 or 6 speed transmission in your car the 2 credits you have will tune the engine and the transmission.
- If you have an 8 speed transmission in your car, you will need an ADDITIONAL 4 credits to tune the transmission bringing the total credits needed to 6.
Do I need to send the ECM to HP tuners to have it unlocked?
- If your car is 2015+ (GPEC2A, and GPEC4 controller), you will need to have the ECM unlocked. Visit the website here -> >HP Tuners Dodge PCM Services
- You will need a factory read out of the ECM before you do this, so you will need to wait until you receive your MPVI3 and read out the ECM beforehand.
