Description
COOL YOUR C7 CORVETTE IN THE HARSHEST OF TRACK ENVIRONMENTS
Corvettes do many things quite well. From hot lapping the drag strip to stretching its legs on the road course, or even taking in a cross-country road trip, the Corvette has the power, handling, braking, and comfort to handle anything you can throw at it. The factory Eaton TVS supercharger found on the C7 Corvette Z06 helps create its astonishing 650 horsepower and utilizes an engine mounted intercooler with a heat exchanger located at the front of the car within the cooling system’s airflow path.
If you recall basic science classes, the temperature of air increases as it is compressed. The supercharger’s compressed air entering the engine can be cooled via an intercooler, which in turn allows the cooler air to make more horsepower. The C7 Corvette’s intercooler is a liquid to air design, using its own coolant reservoir and pump system. The intercooler’s fluid is pumped through the heat exchanger at the front of the vehicle for cooling purposes and then is returned to the supercharger. This allows the intercooler to reduce the incoming air temperature to the engine. However, high boost application, or continued high rpm use can saturate the system, preventing the heat exchanger from effectively cooling the fluid to a sufficient level. Upgrading the heat exchanger to one that is more efficient with a larger fluid capacity is a great solution.
Adding a DeWitt’s Direct-Fit® radiator is certainly a step in the right direction for your 2014-2019 C7 Corvette, as is our optional 19-inch cooling fan upgrade. However, if you really like to push your C7 Z06’s engine hard with extended boost situations like drag racing or road racing, you can further improve your Z06’s performance with our Z06 heat exchanger. Adding our C7 Z06 Corvette supercharger heat exchanger to your Corvette will provide extra capacity and extra cooling for the factory supercharger’s intercooler assembly that will keep inlet air temps in check during extended rpm and boost levels.
BUILT JUST LIKE OUR C7 CORVETTE RADIATORS FOR OPTIMUM EFFICIENCY
We use the same two row core material that make our C7 DeWitts radiator work so well. With dual 1-inch wide core tubes sandwiched between our serpentine cooling fins for maximum heat transfer to the air flowing through the heat exchanger’s core, this dual pass heat exchanger is super efficient. Your C7 Z06 supercharger will love this upgrade. The core is twice as thick as the stock unit yet sized to provide maximum surface area while fitting within the confines of the factory mounting assembly. The additional core material not only offers more surface area for cooling but provides an increase in coolant capacity as well. Speaking of coolant, be sure to add some DeWitts High Performance coolant to your order to protect your supercharger’s intercooler system and help it achieve maximum thermal capabilities.
BOLT IN INSTALLATION YOU CAN HANDLE BEFORE YOUR NEXT TRACK DAY
Our C7 Z06 heat exchanger install is easy, as it is a direct replacement for the original unit found in your 2015-2019 Corvette Z06. Installation requires removal of your radiator and cooling fan assembly for access to the heat exchanger along with various plastic trim and access panels for hose connections. This work can be handled with basic hand tools in just a few hours.
