Maintenance & Troubleshooting
Signs of Wear & Troubleshooting
- To check if your vehicle requires more hydraulic fluid in the liftgate system, remove the pump assembly and place on a horizontal work bench. Check the fluid level using the reference plus mark (+) on the side of the plastic container. If hydraulic fluid is required, position the container vertically and remove the refill plug on the top side of the container. Add fluid as needed and reinstall the plug. Recheck fluid level by placing the pump assembly back in a horizontal position; fluid level should cover half of the plus sign (+).
Good Maintenance Practices
- The bottle should not be left open because the fluid can absorb moisture, contaminating the product. Avoid spilling fluid on interior trim panels or carpeting as it may cause permanent staining.
