Signs of Wear & Troubleshooting
- The following Trouble Shooting Guide should be helpful if you encounter any problems after you have installed our products. If your window won't move or runs slowly:
- Switch may be faulty.
- Wiring: check wiring for any signs of fraying around connector.
- Weather stripping may be binding or causing drag on window.
- Check fuse.
- Check that battery is in good condition and connected.
- Be sure ignition is in the 'Accessory Position'.
- Be sure window is seated in guides properly.
- If your window vibrates when moving:
- If replacement was 'motor' only, be sure motor gear is properly aligned with regulator gear.
- Check weather stripping for drag on window.
- Be sure moving parts on regulator or window itself are not encountering interference.
- If your window makes noise when moving (NOTE: A noise level similar to the ‘hum' of a small fan is expected.) If louder, then:
- Be sure window is seated in guides properly.
- Check that screws holding regulator are tight.
- Check to see if wires or cables are interfering with movement of window or regulator.
Good Maintenance Practices
- There are many things you can do to keep your vehicle's window system running smoothly:
- Never try to roll down the window when it is frozen.
- Keeping the parts well-greased is important to ensure that they keep operating properly.
